Privacy notice
1. Data and sources
- Data you send us: name, position, company, e-mail address, messages and documents.
- Business contact data published by companies: name, position, business e-mail address.
- Information on companies' purchasing needs or supply offers, from those companies or from publicly accessible sources.
- Technical data of website visits, such as your IP address, collected by the hosting provider.
2. Purposes and legal basis
We use these data to operate this website, answer enquiries, contact companies, introduce buyers and manufacturers and follow up the matter, keep the records required by Swiss law and respect requests not to be contacted. Where the EU or UK GDPR (GDPR) applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in these business contacts and in complying with the law that applies to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, if you are yourself party to an agreement with us, that agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You are not obliged to give us your data; without the necessary data, we cannot answer you or conclude an agreement.
3. Recipients and transfers abroad
- IT service providers (e-mail, software, hosting) established in Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands and the United States. They process data in Switzerland and the United States; some of them state that they may also process data in other countries, relying on standard contractual clauses.
- Manufacturers and buyers, within a specific matter and with the buyer's written agreement, in any country. We tell you the other party's country at the latest when we introduce you to each other.
Our transfers to these providers rely on adequacy decisions of the Swiss Federal Council: Ireland, the Netherlands and, for U.S. companies, their certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 16(1) FADP). For a manufacturer or buyer in a country without adequate protection, we rely on your consent or on a direct link with a contract (Art. 17(1)(a) and (b) FADP).
4. Retention
- Matter files (correspondence, agreements, registrations): while the matter is handled and for as long as a commission may be claimed; accounting records and the documents supporting them, 10 years from the end of the financial year (Swiss accounting and tax law).
- Personal data of contacts that do not lead to a matter: 12 months after your last message to us or, if you never answered us, after our first message; they are then removed from our registers.
- Requests not to be contacted: for as long as needed to respect them.
- Website visit data: this site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) using Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical request data to deliver and secure the site. Retention depends on the data, the purposes of processing and applicable legal obligations; its privacy policy explains the criteria. We do not enable visitor tracking or store our own visitor logs.
5. Your rights
You may request access to your data (Art. 25 FADP), their correction or deletion, and object at any time to their processing, in particular to our messages, within the limits of the law; you may also request that they be handed over to you or transferred to another controller (Art. 28 FADP; Art. 20 GDPR) and, under the GDPR, that their processing be restricted. Write to mazlum@courtages.ch. You may report a suspected breach to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EEA or the United Kingdom, lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country.
