Five questions manufacturers ask before saying yes
Here are the answers, in plain words. What we actually agree is the few lines of terms I send you by e-mail; a simple “OK” from you is enough.
Who are you?
Mazlum Saiyd, an independent broker based in Ecublens, Switzerland, working under the name Courtages. Courtages is a one-person business; everything is done in writing. I introduce buyers to manufacturers; I am not your agent and I never speak or sign for you. I do not describe where I find buyers, but every buyer I introduce has first confirmed its need in writing and agreed to the introduction.
What do I risk by saying yes?
Nothing to pay unless you sell: no fee, no advance, no exclusivity, no minimum. If a buyer I introduce to you orders from you within 12 months of the introduction, or later on an offer you made in those 12 months, you pay me a commission on the amounts you actually receive for that order, at rates that decrease by band. Otherwise there is nothing to pay.
What if I already know the buyer?
If you were already in talks with that buyer about the same purchase, just tell me within 5 business days of the introduction and nothing is due for that buyer. And you stay free to decline any buyer, without giving a reason.
Will this conflict with my dealers?
There is no territory and no exclusivity; you decide buyer by buyer. If you would like to know a buyer's country to check it against your dealers' territories, just ask and I will tell you before the introduction.
How do I stop?
Whenever you wish: a short e-mail is enough. Buyers already introduced simply stay covered.
Saying yes takes one line: a simple “OK” from your company e-mail address to the terms in my e-mail, with nothing to sign. If someone else in your company decides, just forward my e-mail to them.
If you signed our earlier one-page commission letter, its text continues to apply.
This page is information only; the terms in my e-mail are what we agree.
